Recently considered to be by an anonymous painter influenděced by Orazio, but the quality of the painting is so high, the connection to Caravaggio so close (Longhi had always attributed it to Gentileschi), the union between Venetian colouring and Tuscan linearity so successful that it seems, for the moment, appropriate to maintain the traditional attribution.
