The first large room on the second floor of the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche of Urbino, called the Della Rovere Apartment, is exclusively dedicated to one of a great local genius: Federico Barocci, who was born, lived (in seclusion) and died in Urbino.
The room contains nine canvases by this painter, most of them masterpieces, including the Madonna of Saint Simon whose complete title is Madonna with Child and Saints Simon and Jude and donors (c. 1567).
